hiii... i was here a couple weeks back with an epically long post about my broken heart. well, all is semi-well now. i still haven't heard from her and don't know wtf is going on, but i definitely feel better. i do want to thank you guys, because you really honestly restored my faith in people helping people-- and at a time where i easily could have become very pessimistic. you have my gratitude, sincerely.

but anyway, i just thought i would share with you this mix i just made. it's kinda based on my situation and there is some mainstream-ish stuff in there so if your ears are easily offended by mainstream, there's your forewarning. haha. it's all songs that i relate to a lot right now.

i thought you might appreciate this format as well. :) you're probably all familiar with mixwit, but if you're not, do check this out... Read more... )

Text tutorial on troubleshooting
Text tutorial on troubleshooting of some technical moments arising from new (and even experienced) iconmakers that I promised to write.

Time showed that some of my visitors (especially english speaking ones) have troubles with using my resources. These troubles can be divided into 3 groups:

1) my Photoshop doesn't identify .rar files, what is that?
2) what is .pat or .abr file and how can I use it?
3) I have older version of Photoshop (or using other program) and the resources don't match, what can I do?

Now I'll answer all these questions.

1) my Photoshop doesn't identify .rar files, what is that? )

2) what is .pat or .abr file and how can I use it? )

3) I have older version of Photoshop (or using other program) and the resources don't match, what can I do? )

Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
Whenever we make that drive, I always make it a point to take Massachusetts Avenue, in spite of the traffic. I barely recognize the buildings now, but each time I am there I return instantly to those six weeks as if they were only the other day, and I slow down and point to Mrs. Croft's street, saying to my son, here was my first home in America, where I lived with a woman who was 103. "Remember?" Mala says, and smiles, amazed, as I am, that there was ever a time that we were strangers. My son always expresses his astonishment, not at Mrs. Croft's age, but at how little I paid in rent, a fact nearly as inconceivable to him as a flag on the moon was to a woman born in 1866. In my son's eyes I see the ambition that had first hurled me across the world. In a few years he will graduate and pave his way, alone and unprotected. But I remind myself that he has a father who is still living, a mother who is happy and strong. Whenever he is discouraged, I tell him that if I can survive on three continents, then there is no obstacle he cannot conquer. While the astronauts, heroes forever, spent mere hours on the moon, I have remained in this new world for nearly thirty years. I know that my achievement is quite ordinary. I am not the only man to seek his fortune far from home, and certainly I am not the first. Still, there are times I am bewildered by each mile I have traveled, each meal I have eaten, each person I have known, each room in which I have slept. As ordinary as it all appears, there are times when it is beyond my imagination.

I feel the summer breeze wash over me..
Hey everyone!
I'm a longtime lurker and second time poster, however, I'm pretty sure my first post was over two years ago. I'm a 20 year old female, second year university student with an undeclared major. I pretend I'm an artist, but I don't think I quite have it.

Everyone is so talented and lovely.
Anywho! Under the cut there are a few images, some from my journal and some of a cd cover I made for a mix tape for a friend.

Friends are allllwaays welcome.

Image heavyyyy.

07.03.08

Today the pain from my neck was really wearing on me. I finally gave in a took a pain killer, then got out my polaroid pinhole camera and holgaroid and distracted myself. I used some of the photos I took here in this spread. The good news is, yesterday I got a tabletop easel to try to work on so I won't have to look down, and did this on the easel.

Help!

I need help! When I try to crop a photo in photoshop it doesnt let me, everything else works fine except for that, its similar to this here
yes, I did read the memories and the exact thing that pops up is like that!! it says cant complete request, scratch disk are full, then it gets frozen Forever then i have to ctrl+alt+delete and all that, I did delete stuff enough for there to be enough space, then I try to crop again and it shows the loading bar of it cropping but it gets stuck like that forever and doesnt do nothing!! So  i read A lot at that one similar post with the problem they had and I read on some website that it might not matter if you have a good amount of space, you'll have to defragment your computer or something, so i tried and it takes Forever!! I read everything about that defrag thing, It better not delete stuff from my computer, but anyways it took too long to defrag so i stopped it, i dont think it will do anything!!

Any suggestions!!? Any other way to crop? Everything else works fine except for that!! I have PSCS2 if that matters!!

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
I am having a really hard time putting this book down. I love it! Here are two different passages:

Passage 1:
"What wise God would consign a man to Hell for ignorance, instead of teaching him better in the afterlife?"

Passage 2:
Taliesin said gently, "Father Patricius, you would do a great disservice to the people of this land if you close their sacred well. It is a gift from God--"
"It is a part of pagan worship." The eyes of the Archbishop glowed with the austere fire of the fanatic.
"It comes from God," the old Druid insisted, "because there is nothing in this universe which doesn't come from God, and simple people need simple signs and symbols. If they worship God in the waters which flow from his bounty, how is that evil?"
"God cannot be worshipped in symbols which are made by man--"
"There you are in total agreement with me, my brother," said the Merlin, "for a part of the Druid wisdom lies in the saying that God, who is beyond all, cannot be worshipped in any dwelling made by human hands, but only under his own sky. And yet you build churches and deck them richly with gold and silver. Wherefore, then, is the evil in drinking from the sacred springs which God has made and blessed with vision and healing?"
